In addition to treating patients at Winchester-Hilgefort
Spine & Joint Center, Dr. Winchester teaches rehabilitation
at Logan College of Chiropractic, serves as an instructor
for the Motion Palpation Institute (hosting seminars
for students and doctors regarding the benefits of evidence-based
care), teaches advanced core stability classes at Ultimate
Fitness Plus in Troy, and works with Dr. Hilgefort to
train middle and high school athletes.

Academically, Dr. Winchester is pursuing his rehabilitation
diplomate through Southern California University Health
Sciences. As part of the rehab program, Dr. Winchester
recently traveled to Prague to study under Dr. Karel
Lewit, recognized as the “father of manual therapy.”
His roles as doctor, researcher and educator keeps Dr.
Winchester at the forefront of medical studies and innovative
health care programs. For his patients, these activities
translate into quality, efficient care and long-lasting
results.
In his free time, Dr. Winchester enjoys
spending time with his family and wife Cheri Thornhill
Winchester, a longtime resident of Lincoln County; reading;
working out; and cheering on his Mizzou Tigers, Rams
and Cardinals.

Prior to his arrival at Winchester-Hilgefort
Spine & Joint Center, Dr. Hilgefort practiced in
the mountains of Vail, Colorado. While in Colorado,
Dr. Hilgefort treated numerous athletes, including members
of the U.S. Disabled Ski Team, U.S. Olympic Snowboard
Team, professional snowboarders and freestyle skiers,
World Cup downhill skiers, World Cup mountain bike racers,
former NHL players, tri-athletes, eco-challenge adventure
racers, ultra-marathon runners and various amateur athletes
and weekend warriors. |

As a former collegiate All-American athlete and certified
strength and conditioning specialist, Dr. Hilgefort
dedicates his free time to serving as the team chiropractor
for the Troy Buchanan High School football, basketball,
track & field, volleyball, and girls soccer
teams. Furthermore, Dr. Hilgefort teaches the Building
the Perfect Athlete class at Ultimate Fitness
Plus in Troy, and conducts research to improve athletic
performance. For his patients, Dr. Hilgefort's knowledge
of body mechanics and athletic training helps patients
maximize performance while reducing risk of injury.
Away from work, Dr. Hilgefort enjoys spending
time with his wife Erica, who works as a speech pathologist
for Lincoln Elementary School in Troy; hiking their
dog, Wylie; biking; snowboarding; reading; and visiting
family in Indiana.
